Zync Global Private Limited, a rising budget tablet manufacturer catering to the needs of the common man, continues to be a successful competitor in the tablet PC market. Zync has gained a very favorable reputation for the tablets Z-990 Plus, Z909 Plus, and Z999 Plus, that were released earlier this year. Adding yet another feather to its cap, the company unveiled the Zync Z930 tablet, which will be its first tablet that is upgradeable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Here is a quick run down of the key specs of this device:
- Android 4.0 (ICS), upgradable to Jelly Bean
- 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor with Mali 400 GPU
- 7” 5 point multi touch capacitive screen (800 X 480 pixels)
- 512 MB DDR3 RAM, 4 GB internal storage
- MicroSD, expandable up to 32 GB
- 0.3 MP front facing shooter
- Supports Wi-Fi, 3G through external dongle
- USB 2.0, HDMI-out, micro USB ports available
- 3,600 mAh Lithium Ion battery
The
Zync Z930 weighs less than half a kilogram and comes with a glossy body
finish with a black body color. The battery claims to produce 3-4 hours
of net browsing and video playback time, which is actually somewhat low
for such a large battery. The lack of a SIM-card slot, bluetooth, and
GPS are also disappointing, but the “sacrfices” are justified because of
the incredibly low price-point It is little disappointing that there
is no SIM slot provisioned. Also Bluetooth and GPS are not supported by
this device.
Entertainment apps
pre-loaded on this app include “Bollywood Hungama” and “BigFlix,” with
the latter also coming with promo coupons worth Rs 248 also included.
Apart from that, included in the low price is a Lycra pouch and a screen
guard, to help protect the tablet against accidental spills and drops.
The
Zync Z930 is priced at Rs 5,499 and is likely to compete against
another similarly-priced tablet, the Karbonn SmartTab 2. You can order
this tablet from the official Zync website.
