HTC Desire U

HTC Desire U with 1GHz single-core CPU, Ice Cream Sandwich coming to China

HTC unveiled a new entry-level Android smartphone for the Chinese market. As such, the Desire U is far from a power-house, but it does look decent and will deliver the goods to its future users.
The phone’s core specs include a single-core 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) screen, 5-megapixel rear-camera, 4GB of internal memory and a microSD expansion slot. 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity is also on board, as well as Bluetooth 4.0. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is running the show and we doubt the Desire U will ever get to the “Jelly Bean stage,” since there’s no horse-power to make for a smooth experience.
We’ve no idea when this phone will start selling but are guessing that could happen any day now. Moreover, we also have no clue whether the Taiwanese company plans to export this little fella’ to the Western hemisphere… Not that we’re crazy to get one…
