Acer unveils Liquid E1 Android smartphone

Acer has unveiled the Liquid E1 Android smartphone. The device is essentially a toned-down version of the Cloud Mobile S500. The Android 4.1 Jelly bean smartphone does not set the house on fire in terms of specifications, but then again it is not targeting a premium customer.
It features a 4.5-inch qHD display; a 5-megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash, a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera a dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory and has a 1,750 mAh battery.
Other frills offered by Acer include a microSD card slot, and a FM receiver. From the press shot we gather, Acer has not skinned the Android UI, at least we dearly hope so. That said, we do notice a couple of Acer custom apps. If this is the case then we can certainly expect a very nice Android experience at a mid-range price.
Dimensions wise the Liquid E1 is not a class leader as it measure 9.9mm, but that’s alright for the segment. No pricing information and availability has be revealed yet.
