IRIS N320 launched for only Rs. 3,999; another dual-SIM Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone from Lava
Lava Mobiles, who have recently launched the IRIS N350 budget smartphone, is further extending the “IRIS” line up by introducing IRIS N320 in the country. The Lava IRIS 320 is available online now on the popular e-commerce website Flipkart and costs only Rs. 3,999. IRIS N320 is Lava’s second offering under the brand name “IRIS” and it has got some nice features under the hood.
Let’s take a look at the specifications of the Lava IRIS N320:
- Dual SIM (GSM+GSM)
- 60.4x112x12.5 mm
- Android 2.3 Gingerbread
- 3.2 inches Capacitive multi touch TFT with 240 x 320 Pixels resolution (QVGA), 262 K colors
- 1GHz single core
- 256 MB RAM
- 100 MB internal memory, expandable upto 32GB via MicroSD card
- 2MP rear camera with video recording
- Connectivity: 2G EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5 mm headset jack, USB, FM Radio with recording
- 1400 mAh Li-ion battery with 4 Hrs of talk time
- Available in Black and White
Although it has got nice specifications, it lacks 3G connectivity and a front facing camera. The amount of RAM is also the same as its predecessor which is definitely not enough for multitasking. Due to the lower screen resolution, Lava IRIS N320 won’t support most HD games and apps, but that is an unreasonable expectation anyway, considering the price point and target market for this device. The IRIS N320 boasts an amazing design though, and in addition to the price, I can see a lot of people falling for this phone.
Lava, a popular name because of its Intel-powered Xolo X900, entered the budget smartphone market with the introduction of their “IRIS” brand and are now stepping up their game with the IRIS N320. The company motto is quality products with smart pricing, and while I can’t comment on the quality just yet, the price point of the device is definitely smart. For local companies, a lot also depends on after sales service, which has not been up to standard with a lot of Indian manufacturers. If Lava can get that right, there’s no reason why the company shouldn’t scale the same heights as Micromax.
What do you think of the new Lava IRIS N320? Do you think it has been priced reasonably? Are you going to order one? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
